The second of the month and the second-ever Express Entry draw for the revised healthcare and social services vocations category is being held today. It comes after three draws: one for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) on June 2, one for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) on May 13, and another for the PNP on May 12.
35,217 ITAs have been issued by the IRCC via the Express Entry mechanism so far in 2025.
PNP candidates have been the main focus of this year's Express Entry system draws; the remaining Express Entry ITAs have been allocated to CEC candidates, candidates who speak French, and candidates who fall into Express Entry's priority categories:
Draw Type | Number of Draws |
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) | 9 |
Canadian Experience Class (CEC) | 4 |
French-language proficiency | 3 |
Healthcare and social services | 2 |
Education | 1 |
What is the duration of the Express Entry procedure?
Although it may take longer to receive an ITA, an Express Entry profile is valid for a maximum of one year.
As long as they still match the eligibility standards, candidates may submit a fresh profile if they do not acquire an ITA within that year. According to the IRCC's tie-breaking rule for Express Entry selections, resubmitting an Express Entry candidate profile will result in a new submission time and perhaps exclusion from a draw.
The Canadian government strives to process an applicant's application for permanent residency within six months of the candidate receiving an ITA. When a completed application is submitted, the processing period starts, and it concludes when a decision is made.
After getting an ITA, a candidate has sixty days to complete and submit a permanent residence (PR) application.
