Alberta just fired off another round of invites to construction workers—yeah, the folks actually keeping roofs over our heads.

This happened July 25, courtesy of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). They’re not just picking random, either. You gotta have the right skills, and Alberta’s got a pretty big soft spot for anyone who can help fill gaps in the labor force, especially in construction.
So, here’s the Draw Results:
This latest draw was all about the Alberta Express Entry Stream. Priority sectors? Construction took center stage. Only 39 people got Invitations to Apply (ITAs) this time, and every single one had a valid Express Entry profile. Not exactly a stampede, but hey, it’s exclusive for a reason.

But don’t get too excited if you’re just dabbling in construction. Your main gig, according to your Express Entry profile, had to be in an eligible construction job. Plus, if you already landed a job offer in Alberta, it needed to match up with one of those qualifying construction roles. Curious which construction gigs make the cut? Alberta’s website has the details, but, spoiler: they’re picky.
Earlier this year, Alberta said 2025’s gonna be big—they’re planning to keep using their three main Express Entry Stream pathways, but with an extra push for people in “priority sectors.” Right now, that means construction, agriculture, aviation, and healthcare. So, if you’re wielding a hammer, flying planes, growing food, or patching up folks in a clinic, Alberta wants to talk.
Number of Nomination and Invitation still to be issued?
AAIP has handed out 269 invites under the Priority Sectors stream so far. The total nomination cap for 2025 sits at 4,875. As of August 1, they’d already burned through 3,134 of those, leaving 1,741 spots on the table for the rest of the year.
