In July 2025, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) continued its efforts to attract skilled foreign workers by issuing hundreds of invitations through various immigration streams. These draws focus on filling critical labor shortages in Alberta’s economy, ranging from healthcare to aviation.
Summary of Alberta Immigration Draws (July 3 – July 16, 2025)
Between July 3 and July 16, Alberta conducted six draws under the AAIP, targeting both Express Entry-aligned and non-Express Entry pathways.

Focus on In-Demand Pathways for 2025
The Alberta Opportunity Stream remains one of the most active, targeting temporary foreign workers already employed in the province with eligible job offers.
For 2025, Alberta has placed additional focus on priority sectors within the Express Entry stream. These include:

🌾 Agriculture

As of July 16, here’s how many nominations Alberta has issued across key pathways—and how many remain:
The AAIP currently holds 2,311 applications under review and has issued 2,895 of its total 4,875 nomination slots for the year. That leaves 1,980 nominations still up for grabs.
