Manitoba and Alberta send invitations to seek for provincial nomination.

In the first Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw of the year, Manitoba granted additional letters of advice to candidates in the Skilled Worker Overseas and Skilled Worker in Manitoba streams.

In addition, Alberta has revised its provincial nominations for the previous year, holding one huge draw on December 23, 2024.


This article will discuss the results of these two immigration drawings.


Alberta:


On December 23, 2024, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) held a draw through the Alberta Opportunity stream, focusing on candidates who met many essential eligibility requirements.


A total of 588 invitations were sent, with the lowest-ranked contender receiving a score of 55.


To qualify, applicants required:

  • a valid qualifying work permit (except Post-Graduation Work Permits) that will expire on December 31, 2025 or later.

  • To have at least a high school education comparable to Canadian norms;

  • Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) or Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadienne (NCLC) level 4 or higher;

  • A minimum of 12 months of employment experience in Alberta;

  • a full-time job offer from an Alberta employer in a qualified occupation, excluding jobs in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) categories '1 - Business, finance, and administrative occupations' and '6 - Sales and service occupations.'



Manitoba:


On January 9, the Manitoba PNP (MPNP) held lotteries for two streams.


The inaugural draw was held under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, which attracted 145 applicants. The lowest-ranked contestant in this draw received a ranking score of 838.


To be considered for this draw, candidates or their spouses must have completed postsecondary study in Manitoba.


The second draw took place under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, with a regional selection for the Winkler area. In this draw, 52 candidates were invited. The lowest-ranked contender in this category had a score of 615.


In total, 197 Letters of Advice to Apply were issued, with 52 going to individuals who provided a valid Express Entry profile number and jobseeker validation code.
